Masters Message
Weston lost another brother last month. Brother Donald Jay Ausmus passed away after a long fight with cancer. Don was very proud to be a Mason. I had a chance to spend a little time with Don before he passed. He was in good spirits and ready to take the final journey and be with his wife once again. As we spend a moment of silence to remember Don, let us also remember that the support we provide when a Brother passes is as important before he passes as it is to those left behind. We help ourselves when we help our brothers on their journey to that vast shore. In the months ahead, I want to encourage each member to do what he can to help a Brother in need.
One of the great values that Masonry offers are the relationships we are able to build. We help ourselves when we help others. We find stronger friendships when we befriend others. We overcome our own shortcomings when we genuinely help others to overcome theirs. This is a strong part of Masonry; finding who best can work and best agree. In the next few (hopefully) months, personal issues will prevent me from doing all that I would like to have done as Master. I greatly appreciate the assistance that my officer line has provided to make my job easier. I want to let you know that I have very thick skin and should you feel a need to complain about something going on in the lodge or the way I approach things, I will not be offended if your concern is genuine and intended to help benefit the lodge. I apologize for the shortness of this message. Hopefully the next message will be longer.
Fraternally yours,
Clinton W Anthis
